Should President Obama (alongside Lindsay Graham and John McCain) be wearing an orange jumpsuit?
Welcome to the beautiful and surreal reality of life under American corporatism, under a Congress that churns out thousands and thousands of pages of (often contradictory) legislation a year.
If providing material assistance to al-Qaeda is illegal under the National Defence Authorization Act (2012), and Obama and Congress are sending $25 million of aid to al-Qaeda-affiliated Syrian opposition, aren’t Congress and President Obama violating their own law? Should Obama (or at least the Justice Department) not be using “all necessary and appropriate force” including “the power to indefinitely detain” to prevent Obama and Congress from assisting al-Qaeda? Did anyone in Congress or the Obama administration even bother to read the law that they were signing? Do Federal laws no longer apply to lawmakers?
The only question left from this abrupt and absurd turnaround — from funding bin Laden’s mujahideen thirty years ago, to ten years ago declaring war on al-Qaeda, to today sending them material assistance — would appear to be whether or not Obama will pull a 1984 and claim that “we have always been at war with Eurasia“.
You cannot just put obama in jail, you also have to jail romney. They are both idiots fighting for the same illegal clause.
lets try and find a good third party candidate.
Joe
Gary Johnson isn’t bad. If he can get to 15% support he can get into the debates. I really hope the disillusioned can get behind him. I’d love to see any of the third party candidates in the debates.
Neither Obama or congress should be arrested under NDAA. It is an unconstitutional act. They should be prosecuted for treason as defined by the constitution
Correct answer!^
Not to Rain on your Parade Aziz but having been a resident Of NM when Johnson was governor I can tell you that I believe a Johnson Presidency would be a disaster.
How so? I have heard from NM residents who see Johnson’s governorship as a roaring success.
Screw that idea……what we need is a 2nd revolution…see “Thomas Jefferson’s writings/opinions” for details….
…remember this “etched in stone” truism…….Washington (DC)….cannot win….a sniper’s war!!!!!
Gary Johnson, Libertarian Party. There is your “good third Party Candidate”.
Then you can suck dope until you croak. He is worthless and spineless. Anyone wanting to legalize dope is an idiot.
Yes they should. The Patriot Acts and NDAA as well as the Lugar-Obama Act clearly says that Aiding Terrorist’s is against all Domestic Laws. In Libya the US Armed the Al Qaeda, Rebel’s and other fractions whereas 50,000 Civilian’s were Murdered with US/NATO forces. (Some Humanitarian Aid) Not is Syria the same story, For the last 12 Years This WORTHLESS Government in their Hoax War on Terror has been arming the very ones they said the War on Terror was all about.
This includes De-listing the (MEK) Mujaheddin from the Terrorist’s list, Joe Biden said and confirmed by the White House that the TALIBAN isn’t an Enemy of the USA. This statement of Biden’s was also “Welcomed” by the Taliban as the US has been secretly releasing Top Taliban from Bagram Prison in Afghanistan.
Then to up the ante, The US also sent Billions to the Muslim Brotherhood. (THINK WTC 1993?) So for the very 4 Groups known as TERRORIST’S the US had be Arming, Supplying Communications Equipment and Money. This Equipment has been used in Syria to DOCUMENT the Gross War Crimes which now the US after 19 Months is trying to distance themselves from. But still, THEY AIDED TERRORISTS!
However, Since this Worthless Government REFUSES to NAME “WHO” the Enemy IS… How is it that PFC Bradley Manning is alleged to have Aided the Enemy. WHO? Was it the Al Qaeda the US Armed? Was it the Muslim Brotherhood sent 1.5 Billion US Tax Dollars? The De-listed Mujaheddin? or the Taliban who isn’t an Enemy but continues to Attack Embassies and NATO outposts?
Fraud takes it form in many ways. But TREASON to the US Constitution is plain to see to ALL REAL AMERICAN’S/ The US is also arming yet another Terrorist organization and there should be a No-Fly Zone placed over that Country for that GROSS HUMAN RIGHTS Violations and its self being a Rogue State or FAILED STATE. That being ISRAEL of Course who receives $7,000,000 a Day or $3.2 Billion a Year and an additional $15 Billion a year to Bomb the People of GAZA/Palestine who DON’T have an Army, No Marines, No Navy and No Air Force. They are 100% a CIVILIAN Population. FAIL!
I agree.
Done. Ron Paul 2012! And if he doesn’t get the GOP nomination and doesn’t run third party, then Gary Johnson. Good candidates are not in short supply… truthful coverage of them in the corporate media is.
Candidates who are too weak to fight this dope situation and heal this country from dopers, criminals and crooked politicians does not need to be in our government even at the lowest levels.
Again, I agree.
This sounds good to me. Arrest all who have aided and abetted the enemies of this country.
We should be demanding they either resign and leave office of be arrested for treason and violation of their “Oath of office and the Constitution” !
I would too but Gary Johnson is not a true libertarian. He has many of the qualities but he does not want to throw the criminals in jail nor talk about health care. Health care is all messed up in the US. As a republican I was for him but he does not quite make it as a libertarian, although he could easily fix these issues.
Joe
I know Robert Wenzel for instance has criticised him. I don’t think we should get too hung up on which candidate is the most perfect. Johnson would be much better for America than Obama or Romney. He has a record of executive success too, something neither Obama nor Romney really have.
I know Johnson is a good candidate but I am still trying to decide between Stein of the Green Party or Johnson of the Libertarian Party. Tough choices but I think Johnson will win my vote in the end.
He and Stein should be in the presidential debates.
To celebrate Obama’s birthday today, I posted a comment on Reddit listing 29 major “accomplishments” (URL, should anyone care to use the list in whole or in part: http://www.reddit.com/r/politics/comments/xo3bv/happy_birthday_president_barack_obama_potus_turns/c5o606r).
For future use, thanks to you — 😉 — I’ll have to improve my NDAA item (18th from top)…
• Signed a decree permitting and encouraging the CIA and other US agencies to aid Al-Qaeda and other terror organizations and mercenary gangs slaughtering civilians in Syria
….by inserting at the beginning: ‘In violation of his own NDAA,’…
My TSA item is my favorite:
• Approved the metastasizing of TSA pedophiles, thieves, smugglers, murderers, and rapists to bus stations, rail stations, and newly-constructed illegal highway checkpoints
I hate Reddit Politics. Criticising Obama always wins you a storm of downvotes. There was a moment of sanity last year around when he signed the NDAA, but now the hivemind has spoken and intolerance of Obama is not tolerated. Here’s the best (or most nauseating) response:
If you’re against Obama, you must be against gay people. Great.
I can see I might come to hate Reddit politics also (or at least the average IQ of the participants) if I got involved more — though my comment at this point has 59% approval of about 6000 votes, so perhaps there’s some hope there.
Something led me to Reddit a month or two ago, so I began daily scanning of its politics page, clicking through to no more than 5% of the posts; my comment compiling 29 Obama “accomplishments” linked above was my first, inspired by a sycophantic Obama birthday post.
Incidentally you might have noticed: mostly for amusement purposes, I responded to the reply to my comment you excerpt above; the same commenter responded back, clearly indicating a severe reading comprehension deficit — thus nicely illustrating my subtle suggestion that his or her IQ was room temperature or less. So it seems at least there might be some occasional fun to be had there.
I hate to break it to you, but your comment actually has a -18 approval rating (as in 18 more people downvoted than upvoted). The thing with a 59% approval rating from 6000 votes is the initial Reddit post about Obama’s birthday.
[reply is to Aziz @ 21:32:46 — there wasn’t an option to reply directly to that comment]
My first experience commenting at Reddit, and I misunderstood the stats box, so I’m glad you clarified that.
And thanks to your earlier comment 😉 , I can not only much more easily not care about the Reddit community’s opinion of my post, but I needn’t waste time commenting in the future.
I don’t understand the big focus on “the gays” trying to shakedown American business as a means of pc thought control. Are “the gays” that easily manipulated too.
Nice work John.

I am glad you wrote this. I had to write to our Prime Minister to get clarification on who is our enemy.
I am so confused.
I am very confused too which is why I wrote the post.
What happens if some Politician with powerful allies decides the West is the bad guy. Just like Churchill and Truman. If we get attacked is it because we have stepped over the line of International Law? Funding rebels with weapons and money no matter the level of support is funding insurrection and violence. Russia has had reporters in Syria a lot longer assessing the situation. They chastised by the Assad regime and the rebels. They said a negotiating stance was the best outcome. But no. The West funds violent uprising. Is it because they want the real Muslim zealots to leave Afghanistan and Iraq and take the pressure off, to ensure a victory in time for the elections? Can they think that strategically?
The religious fervor of the Zealots is getting awfully close to Israel.
Turkey is setting up a base next to the Syrian border. Are we seeing the beginnings of the Ottoman Empire again? A federal republic of Sunni states? Persia was always a separate nation so we can be assured of future Sunni/Shia wars.
It has become so surreal it is laughable. I was listening to a Youth Radio Show. Even the presenters were not explaining facts and details. How can the youth of today know what is going on if the Radio Jocks can’t even present the facts straight.
There has to be a International law which bans opposition groups from receiving funding. All opposition groups must be controlled via a UN process which then puts international pressure on an oppressive regime. Otherwise civil war will rage for centuries. There has to be a check and balance to weapon manufacturers corrupting the political process. Weapons manufacturers are akin to drug manufacturers. I am sure man a politician has been corrupted by their influence. Follow the money!

The essay at http://belligerentact.org makes the case that the language of section 1021 of the 2012 NDAA should make Obama and the members of congress who voted for the act eligible for indefinite detention even before their explicit support of al-Qaeda (whatever that is).
The language says that “any person who has committed a belligerent act” can be detained indefinitely. The authors of that site claim that the NDAA itself is a blatantly unconstitutional belligerent act committed against the people of the United States of America.
Maybe that’s a stretch in legal terms, but it seems to me that it is no stretch to call the NDAA an act of aggression against the spirit of individual rights and the intent of rule of law that the founders of the USA had in mind and wrote into the US constitution.
Ah but here we have an explicit and categorical violation of the NDAA. It is such a broad act that this was inevitable, though.
No hope of Congress or Obama facing charges, or even being forced to cease assisting al-Qaeda, though. They can do what they want; that was the real spirit of the NDAA — serfs get down, the government will do what the hell it wants.

I love you stuff, but looking at your sources, I’m not sure that $25mm is going to Jihadists, necessarily. Sure, it’s interesting, but the link isn’t great (granted, evidence that we’re funding Al-Qaeda would be buried and thus almost impossible to make conclusively). When making the claim (at least somewhat sarcastically, which is my guess) that we should arrest Obama, people are going to turned off as it being more ‘libertarian’ blabber. But to answer your question, yes American politicians are above the law (unless they have gay sex and lie about it).
Follow up question, John — why do you think libertarian principles are having such a difficult time making it into the mainstream voice? Because it’s not a rational “I disagree with the policies”, rather it’s a very vehement opposition (in my experience). Part of me wonders if some principles of individualism just aren’t congruent with aspects of human nature/sociality.
It’s not a total of $25 million solely for jihadists, but the Syrian opposition is being led by jihadists and al-Qaeda.
Even Henry Kissinger admits al-Qaeda have infiltrated it.

Should Obama and Congress Be Arrested Under the NDAA?
The short answer is NO, but ONLY because NDAA is unconstitutional.
Tom, you are, of course, 100% correct. ONLY because the NDAA is Unconstitutional, can we, on moral grounds, NOT arrest Obama and Congress, however, since they do not abide by the U.S. Constitution, in any way, shape of form, perhaps we should arrest them, to prevent further Unconstitutional “laws” from being used to incarcerate and torture, and kill American citizens, possibly under future Martial Law.

This whole thing is rather a big joke. It is clear that Obama not only supports the Muslim Brotherhood, Pays Al Qaeda, is De-listing the Mujaheddin from terrorist’s list and as Biden said and conformed by the White House that the Taliban aren’t enemies of the US.
Clearly Manning is charged for aiding an enemy the US refuses to name in Court as the above 4 groups were thought to be that enemy.
Today’s news of Africa and Hillary’s stupid comment that China is trying to take over the resources of Africa… Though admitting that China has the worst human rights she also said they (USA) have at sometimes overlooked a countries human rights (Namely ISRAEL) but this joke seems to only ripple in the water as today also the Bidding started for Afghanistan’s Mineral wealth. How the US is or becomes the auctioneer for that countries minerals is still a question as the US wasn’t fighting that government just paid mercenaries they supported in the first place.
When the dust settles and the truth is out all will see that the war on terror is 100% hoax on the American people. The War Crimes committed and those that write their books on how they did it and got away with it will still be classified under that other Hoax of “National Security” which is a clever word made up so that the US can murder millions to make sure their countries can drink coke or pepsi and in return make them slaves to the US Banking and Commercial industry.
While all this happens, The US will continue to point at others and call them War Criminals.
Agreed. I am watching a Documentary on Hiroshima as we speak. To think the USA dropped a bomb and vapourised 70000 people to stop a war, and the terrorists downed 3000 people in an attempt to stop USA imperial over reach. it seems a little hypocritical.
But after watching many internet sites questioning the whole 911 incident. I am having trouble believing anything anymore.
If the US citizens don’t stand up, they are guilty as the Germans who stood idly by as the Nazis caused so much terror and damage. Or did they. I don’t know what to believe anymore.
” I don’t know what to believe anymore.”
EXACTLY!! Nobody knows what to believe anymore, which is the natural order of things in increasingly complex systems. Even if you did know what to believe, it wouldn’t be true anyway.
People worry way too much about what everybody else is doing as opposed to what they [themselves] are doing. We have no real control over what our next door neighbor is up to yet what mischief some corporate CEO or highly placed political leader is engaged in..
In any case, their misdeeds will take care of their fate. Obama is merely a plug-in piece like all the rest. The guy probably thinks he is doing a wonderful job. There’s not much you can do against a machine this powerful, but, wait until is implodes from its own dead weight [internal contradictions].

“There’s class warfare, all right, Mr. (Warren) Buffett said, but it’s my class, the rich class, that’s making war, and we’re winning”
“While the poor and middle class fight for us in Afghanistan, and while most Americans struggle to make ends meet, we mega-rich continue to get our extraordinary tax breaks,” Buffett wrote in a Sunday New York Times Op-ed.
There has been class warfare going on,” Buffett, 81, said in a Sept. 30 interview with Charlie Rose on PBS. It’s just that my class is winning. And my class isn’t just winning, I mean we’re killing them.”
“My friends and I have been coddled long enough by a billionaire-friendly Congress.” – Billionaire Warren Buffett, in a New York Times op-ed on Aug. 15.
One reason companies are so profitable is that they’re paying employees less than they ever have as a share of GDP. And that, in turn, is one reason the economy is so weak: Those “wages” are other companies’ revenue.
In short, our current system and philosophy is creating a country of a few million overlords and 300+ million serfs. Blodget
Buffet is not normal. Watch his mannerisms. You don’t become a billionaire having the psychological charachteristics of the population within the bell curve of psychological normalcy.
The same with Politicians. They were the ones in the playground who flattered the bully and the bullied. They thrive on being liked. They will do anything to be liked.
Was Hitler overly ambitious or a mad man. mad men don’t function too well and don’t hold down jobs let alone lead a country so I will assume he was ambitious. He patted pets and children so I assume he was capable of kindness. Perhaps he actually believed his own fantasy. He had so much love he killed his people with Kindness. When they did not return the love by winning for him he spurned them like a jilted lover.
After seeing the carnage caused by these recent massacres, it is time the USA becomes a real police state and do a proper sweep of the internet to flush out these psychological fruit loops. These peopke think they are doing the right thing and that is the scary thing.
I realise I have been suckered by sensationalistic journalism. Trust in people is a fine line between faith in the goodness of man and gullibility.
So no. Obama should not be arrested. They must know something we don’t know.

Worrying about a third party candidate is only going to ensure we don’t get to choose a candidate for generations. You Paul/Johnson people are desperate to get Obama reelected. You people are more dangerous than Obama’s people. Who’s side are you really on, because it’s not the side of the Constitution, Freedom, or America.
I see no difference between Obama and Romney. In some ways, Romney is worse. Where in the constitution does it say corporations are people? Or that the USA should engage in pre-emptive war?

You cannot impeach someone who is not a real president in the first place. He will have to be arrested and thrown out. All his policies and picks in offices will go with him. He has NO say as a criminal and fraud.
Seriously doubt this will ever happen. He was elected by the electoral college, and he is a natural born citizen because his Mother was an American. What more do you want?
One can also do a WEB Search of the IDF Israeli SNIPER who assassinated 400 US Soldiers in Iraq around 2006-7. The Video complete with documentation would also be grounds for TREASON for the Boy’s sent to have RED LINES of their Blood in the Sands of the Middle East.
The United States used to be known as the “Peace Keepers” Paying Billions of US Tax Dollars to various countries to remain “Friendly” to Israel who violates both International Laws, UN Resolutions and continues to commit War Crimes only to be VETOED by this Government who sold their soul’s to the Zionist Regime in Israel.
Israel has been the only State who can “Flip the Finger” at the World Court, UN and others while maintaining a Nuclear Arsenal and German Nuclear Tipped Submarines and spread fabricated LIES about Iran and Iran’s non-Existing weapons program as confirmed by the IAEA, Mossad and CIA. Yet these LIARS are allowed to breed. FAIL!

Hi to every body, it’s my first pay a visit of this webpage; this website consists of remarkable and actually excellent information in support of
visitors.
Du – Juan Harris – RB Green Bay Packers Although he hinted that he would go
back to selling cars in the offseason, I have a feeling that Du – Juan Harris will not
be on any car lot at the beginning of the 2013 NFL
season. It is Tennessee’s Rocky Top, Florida’s Old Ball Coach, and
of course the Gator Chomp and the mighty Tim Tebow. There are some excellent
websites that offer live football matches, as
well as live match scores, for one low price.
